LED light can damage health
February 23, 2011 at 3:03 AM

Based on existing studies, found a variety of effects on health when sleeping in the situation room is not dark. Light at night can actually make depression and overweight. Ohio State University have tested it even with the lights dim when tidurpun still may lead to depression, increasing the likelihood of breast cancer. The reason is simple, our bodies produce cancer-fighting hormone (melatonin), while it is tidu, but this process can be disrupted if the room is not really dark.

The second reason, the LED light is a toxin that can contain various hazardous substances such as lead, arsenic, nickel, and other hazardous materials. Even according to the researchers, colored light contains more toxins than white light. Unfortunately it seems almost every aspect of today is very dependent on the LED light. Call it the red lights that require bright LED light so that the driver could see from afar. Still, studies suggest at least reduce the need for LED light up to now.

One LED light in one gadget may be no big deal, but when it comes to many devices and are found in every place like a bedroom, home, office, car, and wherever we go. This all can be dangerous to health.

The point is, the human body is designed to sleep in total darkness. All the light in our room when sleeping at night can be harmful to health.

Google finally presents a full version of the software development kit (SDK) Android 3.0 Honeycomb  can be used by developers.

Along with the launch of the new platform, Google has updated the SDK Tools (R10) and the ADT Plugin for Eclipse (10.0.0).

In the ADT plugin, Google has added a new palette with the categories and preview rendering, rendering the process more accurate layout so that it can better reflect the layout of the device display, selection-sensitive action bars for manipulating the View properties, including the fit to maximize the zoom view, persistant scale, and access to the keyboard, as well as to maximize support for incorporating layout, or layout with the motion.

Google is also adding integration Traceview for easy profiling of ADT and the device is in use Renderscript graphics engine.

Google Android SDK 3.0 presents a preview of the first time in late January to allow developers start to experiment to make the application on the tablet. In addition, Google also provides Web Store Android Market, Android application store that can be opened and download via the internet on a PC so that the expanded distribution of Android applications, not just on smartphones, but also on the Google Chrome browser.

Applications BrainDriver, driving with mind power
February 21, 2011 at 4:43 PM

The engineers from Freie University, Berlin, is now struggling to do experiments to realize the idea of driving with the power of the mind. With the help of sensors that can record Electroencephalography (EEG). Electroencephalography itself is recording spontaneous electrical energy activities along the skin to the generated by neurons in the brain that take place in a short time.

Through EEG, scientists attempt to instruct the actor to imagine moving the cube in the virtual world. That way, they were able to distinguish the wave pattern Bioelectrical to order this cube to turn left, right, accelerate or brake.

Subsequently, scientists developed a sensor interface that connects to the steering system (steering), accelerator and brakes of his car completely controlled by computers. This allows the movement of the experimenter affects the car only with the power of mind alone.

In a test trial a second time, most of the race the car automatically, but through an EEG sensor can determine the direction of the driver at the intersection.

“In the pilot test we’ve run, the driver is equipped with EEG sensors capable of controlling a car without a problem, there is little pause when the brain sends instructions and the car’s motion is rather slow response.” Says professor Raul Rojas, the head of this Autonomos project.

However, the team that developed the application BrainDriver MadeInGermany realize that the implementation of the concept of driving a car with the power of the mind is considered not feasible in the streets.
